Day 3 Odsherred, Denmark

Went to a glass museum today, mostly for fun. We got a demonstration of the flame torch technique of glass work from an American artist living in Denmark. I think most of us environmental science majors kept thinking about how big his carbon footprint was with the huge flame he worked on. After lunch, we went to a farm. This land, called Lammefjord, is unique because it used to be completely covered by the ocean, but as the need for more land arose, they pumped the water out of the area, leaving very fertile soil that hardly needed any fertilizer. They are known for their sweet carrots and potatoes and supply food for most of the island of Zealand. We also went to the pumping station where they maintain the water levels of the area. This was our final stop on our study tour. In November we have our second tour to..... ICELAND!! Odsherred was so fun I can't wait for our next trip.
